The Florida Youth Orchestra provides access and opportunity for artistic growth through a challenging program of music education; develops self-confidence; instills attitudes of professionalism; fosters a lifelong appreciation of classical music and uplifts the community through inspiring performances by gifted young musicians.
Over 300 members, ages 5-19, from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties participate in FYO’s five orchestra divisions. In addition to preparing many of them for careers in music, the Florida Youth Orchestra teaches musical skills with the human aspects of integrity, commitment, reliability and flexibility. The students develop attitude skills that will last a lifetime.
